Products

Winona Orchards grows peaches, blueberries, and blackberries. We have nearly 50 acres of peaches and our berry patch is just over 4 acres. In addition to selling fruit, we offer gift cards, loyalty cards, caps, and t-shirts.

CSA

Community-Supported Agriculture is simply that: a farming model built around you, the consumer, and your community. CSA members commit to buying fresh farm produce for a season and your farmer commits to growing that food for you.

Markets

We are very focused on the farmers market segment of our business. We currently participate with markets in Tyler and the Dallas Metroplex (DFW). We are always looking to add new markets where appropriate.

About Us

Winona Orchards is a privately held, family-owned and operated business started in 2007 by John and Anita Sattler. Our mission is to grow superior fruit while focusing on sustainability and environmentally responsible practices.

Locally Grown Tree Ripened Fruit

Winona Orchards understands that the consumer is seeking a high-quality, locally grown product that is fresh and full of flavor. Much of the fruit purchased in the grocery store these days has little or no flavor. At many of the farmers markets, produce is being sold by resellers who purchased their fruit from a local wholesaler. Why not purchase produce from the actual grower who can speak to the care and detail that went into the production of the produce you are about to take home and serve to your family.

Sound Agricultural Practices

Winona Orchards is focused on delivering the highest quality, fresh fruit to our customers with a commitment to complying with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) as well as following Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs). We use a minimalistic approach as it relates to applying chemicals to our produce. We utilize the mildest products possible and only apply them when necessary in order to achieve the intended result (high quality, unblemished fruit). In 2019, we achieved the USDA’s Produce GAPs Harmonized Food Safety Audit certification. This audit covers all aspects of the growing, harvesting, packaging, and delivery of our produce as well as traceability in the unlikely event a product needs to be recalled. All of these practices help ensure that we are delivering a safe, high-quality product to our valued customers.

What We Grow

Winona Orchards grows 24 varieties of peaches, 5 varieties of blueberries, and 3 varieties of blackberries. In addition, we have 3 varieties of plums that are in the early stages of production. Growing fruit is very weather dependent. The lack of cold weather (chill hours) during the winter months, freezing weather during the bloom, or a random hail storm during the growing season can result in limited or no production for the year. Our peach season runs from the middle of May to the middle of August. Our berry season runs from the end of May to the end of July.
