Our Story
Winona Orchards is a family-owned farm near Tyler, Texas. We grow tree-ripened peaches and fresh blueberries, blackberries, and plums. From our hillside to your table, we share what we harvest at farmers markets across East Texas and DFW.
The Fruits of Our Labor
Our Orchard History
Winona Orchards was founded in 2007 by John and Anita Sattler. Our family-owned orchard is located just outside Winona, Texas near Tyler. We started by planting 3,500 trees and then added another 1,500 trees in 2012, resulting in an orchard spanning nearly 50 acres. In 2010, we planted just over 4 acres of berries consisting of 2,400 blueberry bushes and 500 blackberry bushes. By 2023, we began adding and replanting peach tree varieties to bring our peach tree count to over 6000 trees! We added 3 acres of blueberries in 2024 and will replant over an acre of blackberries in 2026. Our orchards are carefully planned and all of our fruit is hand picked.
We market our produce through three main channels: at farmers markets, to distributors and grocery stores, and to “peddlers” who sell produce from their own road side stands. We sell our peaches by the quart, by the gift box, or by the 1/2 bushel box. Our berries are sold by the pint or by the flat (12 pints). We don’t offer U-Pick at the farm, but we invite folks to visit the farm where they are able to purchase freshly picked fruit from that day’s harvest.
This is a Family Affair! Our children have been intimately involved from the beginning. They share our passion for delighting our customers with great tasting fruit! They work in the orchard and help manage our market stands across DFW and East Texas. Their pride of ownership is very evident from their product and process knowledge to the way they engage with our customers during the sale. We couldn’t be prouder!

When is peach season?
Peach season typically starts mid-May and runs until the middle of July. Seasons will vary depending on the East Texas weather. Follow our Blog or Instagram for weekly updates.
Do you offer farm visits or U-pick?
At this time, we sell through farmers markets. Any special events will be announced on our Markets page and social channels.
How should I store peaches?
If they’re still a bit firm, leave them on the counter until fragrant and slightly soft, then refrigerate to extend freshness.
What forms of payment do you accept at markets?
Most markets accept cash and cards. We’ll note any changes in our weekly updates.
